History
In the Piedmont Region of Georgia,
Barrow County was formed in 1914 from
Jackson, Walton and Gwinnett
Counties. Its county seat,
Winder, is on
US-29 about 50 miles ENE of Atlanta. Barrow is bordered by the counties of
Jackson,
Oconee, Walton and
Gwinnett.
