Holland James Weaver was born April 10, 1919 in Rule, Texas to Burdine and Bertie (Ray) Weaver. He was a farmer while in west Texas. Holland married Ann Hilscher December 17, 1944 in Stamford, Texas. Together, they moved to Austin in 1960 where Holland became transport supervisor for Mrs. Baird's. He retired in 1982. Holland was a Veteran of World War II and a member of the 10th Street Methodist Church of Taylor. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents and a brother, Johnny Weaver.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Weaver of Taylor, son; Arvin Ray Weaver of Spicewood, daughters; Lea Gerstner of Georgetown and Jeannine Bradford of Austin , brothers; Dale Weaver and wife Frances of Arlington and bill Weaver and wife Nadine of Olton, five grandchildren; Ann Bradford, Thomas Bradford, Christopher Gerstner, Kimberly Gerstner and James Weaver, two great-grandchildren; Charlotte and Keith Gerstner and nieces and nephews.4 |

Biography* | | The following obituary appeared in what appears to be a Woodson, TX paper on Friday, January 13, 1933 and was reproduced on p. 293 of the Mrs. Nan Overton West book The Wests and The Rays and Allied Lines: LITTLE DONALD RAY DIES IN STAMFORD SAT Donald, sixteen months old baby of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ray, died Saturday morning about three o'clock at the Stamford Hospital. The baby was taken to the hispital three weeks before the death, with a severe case of pneumonia. The funeral was held at the Baptist Church of Rule, Texas on Saturday afternoon at three o'clock and interment was made in the Rule cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Richie and Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Elliot attended the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Ray were former residents of Woodson and their many friends extend their deepest sympathy in their bereavement. |
