Mother and Aunt Rosa were washing. I awoke and started crying. Uncle Ellis, slightly drunk, picked me up and dropped me. It must have been on my head. Jackson, GA- Betty Lee Collins Hale, age 87, of Jackson passed away February 2, 2018 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. She was born May 3, 1931 in Moultrie, Ga. daughter of the late Isaac Lee Collins and Hilda Herdon Collins. She was married to the late Forrest Dulane Hale, Sr. She was a homemaker and was a member of the England Chapel United Methodist Church where she was active in church fellowship and held several administrative positions. She was a member of the American Rose Society and was a certified national judge.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Forrest Hale Jr. and Polly Hale: two grandchildren, Forrest Dulane Hale III, Carrie and Blake Baugus; two great grandchildren, Poppy Baugus and Hazel Baugus. She was preceded in death by her sister, Caroline Jarman. She is survived by her brother, Billy Collins and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Betty Lee Collins Hale will be Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Rev. Lewis Strickland will officiate with interment in the Towaliga Baptist Church Cemetery with visitation one hour prior to the service.

JACKSON, GA - Forrest Dulane Hale, Sr., 78, of Lee Maddox Road, Jackson, GA passed away Saturday evening, July 12, 2008 at Healthfield Hospice in Riverdale. -He was born in Memphis, TN May 21, 1930 son of the late Forest Franklin Hale and Bonnie Wooten Hale. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and 6 months before retiring. He was a member and Deacon at the Towaliga Baptist Church in Butts County. -Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Lee C. Hale; son and daughter-in-law, Forrest Hale, Jr. and Polly; and two grandchildren, Carrie Marie Hale and Forrest Dulane Hale III. -Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 10A.M. at the graveside in Towaliga Baptist Church Cemetery in Butts County. Rev. Lewis Strickland will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. | Biography* | | In a 23 Oct 1993 letter Mrs. Forrest (Lee Collins) Hale, Sr. wrote: In 1983... the Old Hale Homestead in Butts Co. became available - so we purchased it - Forrest's great-great-grandfather moved here in 1859 from Clarke Co., Ga. - Once Forrest and I sold our house, etc. and moved here - Forrest Jr. could not stay away, so he and his family moved on the property too.... Finally in June 1989 Forrest retired again from the Tennessee Valley Authority - Office of Inspector General and we thought we would have lots of time, etc. and he [would be] able to travel some but that didn't happen because we had a small herd of beef cattle so we had to be here - A couple of months ago we sold all our beef herd - Now maybe we can do what we like.
In 19 Nov 1993 notes, Lee added that Forrest served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and was in the Office of the Inspector General. He then worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority and now retired. He is a Certified Internal Auditor and a Deacon at the Towaliga Baptist Church. |
