(Betty Lee Collins) Hale excerpted the following from pages 1 and 9 of the Moultrie Observer Monday afternoon, 20 Jul 1970: Glen Hilton McCranie and Marion Hilton McCranie, Sr. Former Resident, father killed in Florida Wreck A former resident of Colquitt County and his father were killed Sunday afternoon in a head on collision South of Tallahassee. Dead were: Marion Hilton McCranie, Sr, 58, of 2760 Tennessee Ave, Tallahassee, a former resident of this area and his 76 year old father, Glen Hilton McCranie also of Tallahassee. Also killed in the accident was: Glenn Laverne Hailien, 22 and his grandmother, Mrs. Katie W. Goss, 66, both of Tallahassee. Richard J. Sanderson, 44 and little Camille Hailien, 22 months, were injured in the accident and admitted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital all four people were pronounced dead at the scene following a head on collision at 5:25 pm, Sunday some 5.4 miles South of Tallahassee on U. S. Highway 319. Marion McCranie was a resident of this area until 5 years ago when he moved to Tallahassee. Services here. Funeral arrangements are incomplete for Marion Hilton McCranie, Sr. He was a native of Brooks County and employed as a night watchman in Tallahassee. Survived by: Widow: Mrs. Loraine [Lorraine] McCranie 5 sons: 1. Charles McCranie - New Orleans 2. Bill McCranie - Moultrie 3. Raymond McCranie - Tallahassee 4. Frank McCranie - Tallahassee 5. Mrs. Doris Sanderson - Tallahassee 10. Mrs. Sandra Rives [Rivers?] - Clewiston, Fla.
