Moved to Brownsville, TX as a fruit & vegetable farmer." The following death notice is from an unknown source: J. A. SEWELL Funeral services for J. A. Sewell, 81, were held at Brownsville, Tex. Thursday afternoon. Mr. Sewell, who was a former resident of Shuler, died in Brownsville unexpectedly Tuesday. He had been active until recently when he underwent surgery. Born in Georgia, Mr. Sewell came to Union county at the age when he also engaged in truck farming at Shuler until June, 1912 [read 1921] when he moved to Brownsville where he also engaged in truck farming.[sentence as printed] He was a member of the Methodist church. His survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Beth Snow, Harligen, Tex; two sons, John Cobb Sewell and Emmett Sewell, both of Brownsville; four brothers, N. Frank Sewell and A. C. Sewell, both of Shuler; E. K, Sewell, Osceola and W. D. Sewell, El Dorado.

Sessoms Dec. 25, 1902 who preceded him [in death] three (3) years ago. The following obituary is from an unknown source Mrs N. F. Sewell Mrs. Trudie Valora Sewell, 80, Route 6 (Shuler Community), died in an El Dorado hospital Saturday after a two-month illness. Born May 10, 1882 in North Carolina, she was the daughter of A. B. and Alice Wynn Sessons. A pioneer resident of this county, she was a member of the Freedonia Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, N. F. Sewell; three sons, Rev. James R. Sewell, Parkdale, Ark., Joe Sewell, El Dorado and A. A. Sewell, Pawkusha, Okla; one foster son, Dale Sessions, Camden; three daughters, Mrs. G. C. Emerson and Miss Ruth Sewell, both of El Dorado, and Mrs. John Buck, Camden; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p. m. from the Freedonia Methodist Church by the Rev. Dewitt Harbison and the Rev. David Wilson. Burial will be in Fredonia Cemetery by Rumph Mortuary.
