Obituary*30 Dec 1937 William LONG, 21 years of age, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Henry CULPEPPER, of Barney, died Saturday in Valdosta Hospital following and operation. Mr. Long, who had been employed in Gainesville, Florida, was in Barney for the holidays with his grandparents when he was stricken ill. He was rushed to a Valdosta hospital for an emergency operation and although everything possible was done the end came Saturday. Mr. Long's mother died some years ago and he was reared by his grandparents in Barney. He was a young man of great promise and was popular with a large circle of friends who were grieved to learn of his untimely passing. Funeral services were held Sunday from the Culpepper home in Barney with interment following at Campground cemetery.1

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11 A.M. in our Cascade Chapel. Interment Westview Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the chapel at 10:30 on day of Service. James was a "Jack of ALL Trades", a auto mechanic, licensed barber, head cook for Westminster School, and maintenance manager for the Capitol City Country Club, from which he retired in the early 1990's. He also held a Morticians License in Detroit MI. He leaves to cherish his memory three children; Robyn Hardaway-Cook of Douglasville, GA, Rosalid Hardaway, and Aaron (Trina) Hardaway of Detroit, MI. Two step-children: Angela Franklin and James (Mary) Franklin of Oxford, GA. three grandchildren; two sister-in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews Cousins and friends.
