She was the daughter of the late Mills and Addie Willis Dough and the widow of the late Charlie Sherman Culpepper. Mrs. Culpepper is survived by three daughters, Fay Culpepper of Chapel Hill, Shirley Culpepper Turpin of Kill Devil Hills and Pat Culpepper Jennette of Kitty Hawk; a son, Sherman Culpepper of Virginia Beach; and several grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo. Burial will be in Dolly Cemetery, Nags Head. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.2

His son, George Poole, was also clerk and Deacon for many years and George's son, Elijah, was recorder of the church activities for a time also.8
