Biography* Loretta was born Mirion Loretta Truelove in Belton, Texas on March 12, 1936 to Margaret Irene and Harlin Foy Truelove. She passed from this life to the next on December 19, 2002. Loretta married Richard Donald Meyer on July 12, 1955. They raised three children and enjoyed eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her parents, two sisters, Margaret Smith and Gerel Hartman, one brother, Bill Truelove, and her son, Glen A. Meyer. She is survived by her husband, Richard Meyer of Carlsbad, NM, her two daughters, Debbra London of Carlsbad, NM and Trudy Gililland of Griffin, GA, her sister, Mona Marler of Bevins, LA, her brother, Pete Truelove of Moffat, TX as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Loretta had a zest for life and laughter. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing games, and expressing her creativity through craft making. She had a love for genealogy and had invested countless hours tracing her family history. In the ‘70s she was the president of REACT and was known as Yellow Rose. She will always be our "Yellow Rose of Texas." She will be loved and missed by all.

Memorial services will be held Monday, December 23, 10:00 a.m. at Garden Street Baptist Church, 2806 Garden Street to be followed by a graveside service at Sunset Gardens both in Carlsbad, NM. Flowers may be sent to Garden Street Baptist Church or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.

Biography* Charles Frederic Hull wrote on March 16, 2006:
     "Dad (born July 17, 1906) first worked for Phillips Petroleum Company in Texas after graduating from Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University) in 1928, and later worked for the Texas Highway Department as a civil engineer for two years. Then he returned to Phillips Petroleum and eventually became the project manager for the Engineering Department, building refineries in Alaska, Louisiana, Texas, and he helped develop the Ekofisk field in the North Sea. As they say in Georgia, he was a hell of an engineer. He was with Phillips for over 30 years.
     "I was serving in Vietnam in 1967 and was notified that he was dying, so, I was given a compassionate reassignment to Oklahoma City where I worked with the 112th Military Intelligence Group. I was able to spend the last four months of Dad's life taking care of him on weekends. He passed away on March 6, 1968."1
