He was born August 10, 1927 in Chesapeake, Virginia to the late Betty Etheridge and George Culpeper. Mr. Culpeper spent 37 years working for Dupont where he was instrumental in bringing on the first computer. For 63 years he was the loving and devoted husband of Frances Laughinghouse. One of his greatest passions was spending time with his family particularly at the beach. In addition to being survived by his wife, Frances; he leaves behind a son Blair Culpeper and his two children: daughter Kathleen Culpeper and son William and his wife Kim and their two children Michael and Elizabeth. He was predeceased by one son David Culpeper. Private graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews. Heritage Funeral Home - Weddington is handling the arrangements. |

A funeral service will be conducted from the graveside at the Old Dominion Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Dr. Robert Moore. Friends may call at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford, Tuesday from 12 to 4 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home, 201 Pheasant Run, Cloverdale, from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
