San Jacinto County

County History and Geography

In the Piney Woods Region of east Texas, San Jacinto County was formed in 1869 from Polk, Liberty, Montgomery and Walker Counties. Its county seat, Coldspring, lies between I-45 and US-59 and is about 60 miles north of Houston. San Jacinto is bordered by the counties of Trinity, Polk, Liberty, Montgomery and Walker.
