County History and Geography

In the Oakwoods and Prairies Region of north Texas, Parker County was formed in 1855 from Bosque and Navarro Counties. Its county seat, Weatherford, is on I-20, about 30 miles west of Fort Worth. Parker is bordered by the counties of Wise, Tarrant, Johnson, Hood, Palo Pinto and Jack.
