County was formed in 1846 from
San Patricio
County. Its county seat,
Corpus Christi,
is a port on the Gulf of Mexico, about 175 miles SE of San Antonio. Nueces is bordered by
the counties of San Patricio,
Jim Wells and Kleberg.
