Prairie and Oakwoods Regions of North Texas, and now part of the NW Dallas
suburbs, Denton
County was formed in 1846 from Fannin
County. Its county seat is Denton, and it is bordered by the counties of
Cooke, Grayson,
Collin, Dallas,
Tarrant and Wise.
