Burnet County
County History and
Geography
In east central Texas,
Burnet County is located on the Edwards Plateau. It was formed in 1852
from Bell,
Williamson and Travis
Counties. Its county seat, Burnet, is on I-35, about 50 miles northwest of
Austin. The county is bordered by the counties of Lampasas,
Bell, Williamson,
Travis, Blanco,
Llano, and
San Saba.
