In the southwest region of
New Mexico,
Sierra County was established in 1884 from
Socorro, Doña
Ana and Grant counties. Its county seat,
Truth or Consequences, is on I-25, about 140 miles south of
Albuquerque. Sierra is bordered by the New Mexico counties of
Catron, Socorro, Doña
Ana, Luna and Grant.
