History

In the North Central region of New Mexico, Santa Fe County was established in 1852 as an original county. Its county seat, Santa Fe, is also the state capital and is on I-25, about 60 miles northeast of Albuquerque. Santa Fe is bordered by the New Mexico counties of Rio Arriba, Mora, San Miguel, Torrance, Bernalillo, Sandoval and Los Alamos.
