Acadia Parish
History
In the Cajun region
of southern Louisiana,
Acadia Parish was formed in 1886 from St. Landry
Parish. Its
parish seat,
Crowley, is on
I-10 about 80 miles west of Baton Rouge. Acadia is bordered by the parishes of
Evangeline, St. Landry, Lafayette, Vermillion and Jefferson Davis.
