Montgomery County
History
In the Bluegrass
region in north central Kentucky,
Montgomery County was formed in 1796 from Clark
County. Its county seat,
Mt. Sterling, is on
I-64 about 25 miles east of Lexington. Montgomery is bordered by the
counties of Bath, Menifee, Powell, Clark and Bourbon.

Note: Harrison, Montgomery and
Scott counties, all in the vicinity of
Lexington, have a road or street named Culpepper but otherwise seem to
have had no Culpeppers living there. Perhaps there is a developer in
Lexington who was a Culpepper or who liked the Culpepper name. |
