Marshall County
History
In the Jackson
Purchase Region at the western tip of Kentucky,
Marshall County was formed in 1842 from
Calloway County. Its county seat,
Benton, is on
the Purchase Parkway about 250 miles WSW of Lexington. Marshall is bordered by the counties of
McCracken, Livingston, Lyon, Trigg, Calloway and
Graves.
