History
In south central Kansas,
Sumner County was formed in 1867. Its county seat,
Wellington, is on
I-35 about 25 miles south of Wichita. Sumner is bordered by the Kansas counties of
Harper, Kingman, Sedgwick and Cowley, and by the
Oklahoma counties of Grant and Kay.
