History
In the Upper
Coastal Plains Region of Georgia,
Grady County was formed in 1905 from
Decatur and Thomas Counties. Its county seat,
Cairo, is on
US-84 about 250 miles south of Atlanta and 30 miles north of Tallahassee, FL. Grady is bordered by the Georgia counties of
Decatur,
Mitchell and
Thomas, and the Florida counties of
Gadsden and Leon.
