Catoosa County
History
In the Ridge and
Valley Region of Georgia,
Catoosa County was formed in 1853 from
Walker and Whitfield
Counties. Its county seat,
Ringgold, is on
I-75 about 100 miles northwest of Atlanta and 15 miles southeast of Chattanooga,
TN. Catoosa is bordered by the Georgia counties of
Walker and Whitfield and the Tennessee county of
Hamilton.
