Pasco County was formed in 1887 from
Hernando County. Its county seat, New Port Richey, is on
US-19 about 30 miles north of St. Petersburg. Pasco is bordered by the
Atlantic Ocean and the counties of
Hernando,
Sumter, Polk,
Hillsborough and Pinellas.
