Gulf County
History
On the Gulf coast
in the Panhandle Region of Florida (aka Redneck Riviera),
Gulf County was formed in 1925 from
Calhoun County. Its county seat,
Port St. Joe, is on
US-98 about 80 miles southwest of Tallahassee and 125 miles east of Pensacola.
Gulf is bordered by the
Gulf of Mexico and the
counties of Bay, Calhoun, Liberty and
Franklin.
