How to Find
Names on this Site
There
are four ways on this website to search for your Culpepper or
Culpepper-related ancestor.
-
Index of Names. Start by doing a search in our
Family Tree Index.
Our index of names is only for the Family Tree portion of
the site. If you are trying to find where you or a particular
ancestor fit within the overall Culpepper family tree, this is a
good starting point.
However, please be aware that we have many other references to
Culpeppers in news articles, obituaries, censuses, and records of
birth, marriage, death and burial. Many of these references will not show up in the
Family Tree. But you can find them via our Search Engine described below.
Also, when using the Family Tree Index, it is necessary to know the
exact form of the name that we used in the Family Tree. Depending
upon the person, the form of our names in the family tree may be
based upon a census record, an obituary, or other public or private
published documents. The form of the name by which you know the
person could be quite different. Plus, keep in mind that prior to
quite modern times, people often modified their names over the
course of time.
-
Search Engine. As of February 4, 2005, we converted our search engine to
Google. This site-specific search returns results for all portions of
our website and not just the Family Tree. It
employs standard Google syntax.
-
Contact Us.
If you're not successful in your search, we're always glad to help a
Culpepper make a match between their family and the worldwide
Culpepper Family Tree. Just contact
us
and tell us what you already know about your ancestry.
-
DNA Project. If the connection of your
branch of the Culpeppers to our worldwide family tree is unknown,
then by your joining our DNA project, we may be able to figure it
out.
Is Your Culpepper Line Posted?
We would welcome information on your branch of the family. If you would like to submit your Culpepper family data for publication,
please see Sending Us Information.
