She was born on October 14, 1922 in Lewisville, Texas to Doc and Ethel Martin. She married Vernon Paul Culpepper, who preceded her in death while serving in World War II. Lou spent most of her life in Lewisville, working for Sanger Harris and Foley's, before retiring in 1984. Lou was a kind and loving mother, a good friend and will be greatly missed by the ones she leaves behind. She is survived by: son, Ronald P. Culpepper and his wife, Shirley of Paris, Texas; daughter, Becky Birdsong and her husband, Dennis of Eastland, Texas; sister, Partlena Hogue of Lewisville; seven grandchildren: Bruce Birdsong of Aubrey, Texas; Kimberly Hawk of Colorado; Debbie Fieseler of Sherman, Texas; Christi Barnett, Terry Myers and Charles Myers all of Paris, Texas; Howard Myers of Austin, Texas. Lou is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends. Lou was preceded in death by one sister, Audrey Boenker and one brother, Kenneth Martin. Funeral Services were held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at Mulkey-Mason Chapel. The family received friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on July 18, 2005 at the funeral home. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville is in charge of arrangements.1 |

Funeral services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Burial follows in Mount Tabor Cemetery. The family receives friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. She was born Feb. 26, 1940, in Glenwood Ark., a daughter of Ellis and Loda Caldwell Waggoner. She married Ronald Culpepper June 8, 1984, in Lamar County. She was retired from Kimberly Clark and a member of Powderly Church of God. Survivors include her husband, Ronald Culpepper; children and their spouses, Debra and Jimmy Skinner of Sherman, Howard and Angela Myers of Austin, Charles and Darla Myers, Terry and Jackie Myers and Christi Barnett; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold and Jerry Waggoner, both of Paris; sisters, Bernice Pendleton of Colorado, Inez Helms, Louise Mackey, Charlene Sloate all of Paris. She never met a stranger. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She always helped anyone in need. She was involved in church activities. She was a lot of fun and very well loved by all.
