In the Edwards
Plateau Region of central Texas, Bandera
County was formed in 1856 from Bexar
and Uvalde
Counties. Its county seat,
Bandera,
is about 40 miles NW of San Antonio. Bandera is bordered by the counties of
Kerr, Kendall, Bexar,
Medina,
Uvalde and Real.
