Livingston Parish
History
In the Plantation
region of eastern Louisiana and formerly part of Florida,
Livingston Parish was formed in 1832 from St. Helena
Parish. Its parish seat,
Livingston, is on
I-12 about 25 miles east of Baton Rouge. Livingston Parish is bordered by the
parishes of Ascension, East Baton Rouge, St. Helena and Tangipahoa; and by Lake Maurepas.
