Taylor County
History
On the Gulf Coast
in the North Central/Suwannee River Region of
Florida,
Taylor County was formed in 1856 from
Madison County. Its county seat, Perry, is on
US-19, 27 and 98 about 45 miles southeast of Tallahassee. Taylor is bordered by the
Gulf of Mexico and the counties of Jefferson,
Madison,
Lafayette and Dixie.
