On the Atlantic
coast in the Southeast/Gold Coast Region of
Florida,
Saint Lucie County was formed in 1905 from
Brevard County. Its county seat,
Fort Pierce, is on
I-95 about 80 miles southeast of Orlando and 70 miles north of West Palm Beach.
Saint Lucie is bordered by the
Atlantic Ocean and counties of Indian River,
Okeechobee and Martin.
