Levy County
History
On the Gulf Coast in the
North Central/Suwannee River Region of
Florida,
Levy County was formed in 1845 from
Alachua and Marion counties. Its county seat,
Bronson, is on
US-27 about 20 miles southwest of Gainesville. Levy is bordered by the
Gulf of Mexico and the counties of Dixie,
Gilchrist,
Alachua,
Marion
and Citrus.
