Siskiyou County
History
In the mountain region of northernmost
California, Siskiyou County was created in 1852 from
Klamath and Shasta Counties. Its county seat, Yreka, is on I-5, about 300 miles
north of San Francisco. Siskiyou is bordered by the California counties of
Modoc, Shasta, Trinity, Humboldt and Del Norte, and
the Oregon counties of Curry, Josephine and Jackson.
