Van Buren County
County History and Geography
In the Ozarks Region of northern Arkansas, Van Buren
County was formed in 1833 from Independence, Clark and Izard counties. Its county seat,
Clinton, is on
US-65, about 60 miles north of Little Rock. Van Buren is bordered by the
counties of Stone, Cleburne, Faulkner, Conway, Pope and Searcy.
