Lawrence County

County History and Geography

In the Delta Region of Eastern Arkansas, Lawrence County was formed in 1815 from New Madrid County, Missouri. Walnut Ridge, its county seat, is on US-67, about 120 miles NE of Little Rock. Lawrence is bordered by the counties of Randolph, Greene, Craighead, Jackson, Independence and Sharp.
