Howard County

County History and Geography

In the Ouachitas Region of western Arkansas, Howard County was formed in 1873 from Pike, Hempstead, Polk and Sevier counties. Its county seat, Nashville, is about 110 miles southwest of Little Rock. Howard is bounded by the counties of Polk, Pike, Hempstead and Sevier.
