Clay County

County History and Geography

In far northeastern Arkansas in the Delta Region, Clay County was formed in 1873 from Randolph and Greene Counties. It has dual county seats, Corning and Piggott. Corning is on US-67, about 160 miles northeast of Little Rock, and Piggott is 25 miles east of Corning. Clay County is bordered on the west and south by the Arkansas counties of Randolph and Greene, on the north and east by the Missouri counties of Butler and Dunklin.
