Research note*31 May 2004 That David was the son of Joseph Culpepper and Margaret Willoughby is a matter of conjecture.
His apparent brothers, Benjamin and John both named sons Joshua, and Joshua was a known son of Josph P. and Margaret, from his marriage record.
His marriage license (and the two of his brother John) should be checked to see if any of them mention the names of parents.
