|Obituary*||11 Jan 2003||CULPEPPER, ROBERT H. (JIMMY) - passed away January 9, 2003 at Woods Memorial Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Polk County and a member of Wetmore Baptist Church, he was a member of Plumber and Steamfitter Local #43 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. At the time of death he was the oldest veteran of foreign wars residing in Polk County. He was an avid fan and supporter of the UT Vols and Polk Co. High School athletics. Preceded in death by parents, John Franklin and Onie Jane Culpepper; thirteen brothers, Malcolm, Dora, Dolph, Grafton, Edgar, Peter, Clay, Leslie, John Harold, Joe, Reverend Paul, Charles and Norman; four sisters, Ollie Tullock, Maude Pack, Eunice Payne and Mellie Crumley. Survivors include nephew and caregiver, Max Culpepper; many nieces, nephews and special friends, Wilburn and Harriet Caldwell. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, January 11, 2003 beginning at 1 p.m. followed by a funeral at 3 p.m. with Pastor Edward Earl officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Johnny Culpepper, Charles Kerr, Nathan Swafford, David Green, Brian Culpepper and Ronnie Smith. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Wetmore Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 26, Delano, Tenn. 37325. Higgins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.2|
