     Daniel R. was a private in co. A, 61st VA Regiment (Jackson Greys), which saw action at Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, The Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, The Crater and other battles. Daniel died from wounds in the U. S. Ford Hospital in 1863. A conflicting account (from Alice Doak) states that Daniel died at Gordonsville, Orange Co., Va. on 5 Oct. 1862.3
