     There are four different records of Daniel Culpeppers from Virginia serving in the Civil War. Since this Daniel, the son of Thomas and margaret, is found in no records after the Civil War, most likely he was one of those four and he died in the war. The records are:
     Daniel M. Culpeper, enlisted (date and place unknown) as a Private in Company A, 14th Battn Cavalry Regiment Virginia.
     Daniel M. Culpepper, enlisted (date and place unknown) as a Private in Company F, 15th Cavalry Regiment Virginia.
     Daniel Culpepper, enlisted at Fort Nelson, Virginia as a Private on 17 August 1861 in Jackson Grays Regiment Virginia. Transferred into Company A, 7th Battn Regiment Virginia on 15 Dec 1861. Transferred into Company A, 61st Infantry Regiment Virginia on 8 Aug 1862.
     Daniel Culpepper, enlisted at Norfolk Co., Virginia as a Private on 11 July 1861 in Jackson Grays Regiment Virginia. Transferred into Company A, 7th Battn Regiment Virginia on 15 Dec 1861. Transferred into Company A, 61st Infantry Regiment Virginia on 8 Aug 1862. Died of disease Company A, 61st Infantry Regiment Virginia on 4 Oct 1862 at Gordonsville, VA Hospital.1
