Biography* She was known as "Mellie." Charles Ross Culpepper wrote of her, 20 Dec 1978: She was one of 14 children.... These two [Mellie and John Butler Culpepper] had a love filled marriage. Grandfather died Jan. 19, 1937 and Grandma was carried to the grave on Mothers' Day and she patted the grave and said, "I'll be with you soon darling." They buried her on Fathers' Day.
