DNA* Stephen has been proven by DNA and genealogical research to be a descendant of Lemuel Culpepper of Jasper Co., GA. DNA also shows that Lemuel descends (father unproved) from Robert Culpepper, Jr. of Lower Norfolk, VA. 
Birth*circa 1819 Stephen was born at Jasper Co., Georgia, circa 1819. The father of Stephen is far from proven. DNA has revealed a descent from Robert Culpepper, Jr. and that he does not descend from Robert's sons William or James. He could descend, however, from Robert's sons Daniel, Sampson or Joseph.1
