| Biography* | | The following is from the Aug 1980 Lineville Tribune: Jordan Reunion The family of the late James Monroe and Laura Miller Jordan met at the Foy Jordan's home in Mellow Valley last Sunday for their 51st reunion. Mrs. Etta Jordan has never missed one, however, she was brought from the local hospital Sunday for a short while; being there due to a fall last Tuesday. Everyone was happy to see her come. Several new faces were present this year we were glad to see back. One hundred ten attended, coming longest distance was Blane Thompson from Rapid City, S.D. The writer recalls five weddings, one birth, one death in the past year. A bountiful meal was served in the shaded front yard with Rev. W.B. Cates gracing the table. The Jordans had 8 children. Two survive. Those attending from Erastus' family were 2, from Nora's family were 8, from Willie Radford's family were 6, from Zenus' family were 5, from Ethridge's family were 45, Bertha's family were 5, from Imogene's family were 5, from Leonard's family were 12 and there were 22 visitors. |

The Ashland Progress - November, 1922 In Memory Jean Myron, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Jordan, was born the 10th day of April, died 17th day of Nov. 1922, being 7 months and 7 days old. Myron was seriously burned on the 16th day of November which caused his death. His little body was laid to rest in County Line cemetery the 18th day of November to await the coming of his Lord and Saviour. Why this sweet smiling brown eyed baby was taken we can't understand, yet God knoweth and doeth all things well. Dear father, mother, and brothers little Jean Myron now smiles in heaven, so let us strive to meet him some sweet day. A Friend.1 |
