Research note*Jun 2008 From Ann Fawcett
Noah Martin was born in Poquoson, VA, and as a young boy moved with his family to "Scots Creek" area of Portsmouth, VA where as an adult Noah was a farmer. Culpeppers and Martins lived side by side in that small part of Portsmouth. An "Old Culpepper House" could be seen across what was then an open field from my family home in the 1940's.
This information is well documented in my maternal uncle Fred W. Martin's research recorded in the book The Martin Family of Poquoson District of York Co. VA. . p, 92.1
