In the Texas Gulf Coast Prairie and now the SW Houston suburbs,
Fort Bend County was formed in 1837 from
Austin, Harris and Brazoria
Counties. Its county seat is Richmond. Fort Bend is bordered by the counties of
Harris, Brazoria,
Wharton, Austin and Waller.
