Coryell County
County History and Geography
In the Blackland Prairie Region of Central Texas,
Coryell
County was formed in 1854 from Bell and
McLennan Counties.
Its county seat, Gatesville,
is about 150 miles north of San Antonio and 100 miles south of Fort Worth. Coryell is
bordered by the counties of Bosque,
McLennan, Bell, Lampasas and
Hamilton.

Location: Take Hwy 84 East 14 miles to Ogleby Spur 1996. Go
eight miles, turn right on 107, turn left off 107, go 8.4 miles to Eagle
Springs Cemetery. It is thought that the land was donated by the
Culpeppers.
