...2nd Pheby Ann Poindexter, Martha B. Grace, James W. Culpepper and Mariah June Bridgewater: this my 4 children to have five dollars each.

3- I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth should she survive me all my stock of every description ... also my tract of land situated in the state of county aforesaid (Henry, TN) on the waters of Holly fork. Beginning at the north west corner of R. D. Nanny...to a stake in the field of James W. Culpeppers N East corner...to R.D. Nanny's south west corner. Thence north with his degree line 193 poles to the beginning. This being a part of Grant N 1827 issued to James H. Culpepper for 182 acres & 62/160 this the above described tract of land to be hers and at her disposal for ever.

I further here by appoint & ordain my beloved wife Elizabeth Sole executrice to this my last will and testament and I further request my friend Lewis M Edgar to assist my said wife to establish this record hereby revoking all other wills by me made in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13th of January AD 1857.

Jackson & Zerubral Scott subscribing witnesses thereto who bring first swore depose and say that they were personally acquainted with the testator and saw him sign and heard him publish and declare the same to be his last will and testament. that he was of sound disposing mind and memory and that they singed the same at his request in his presence as witnesses. p. 121

Culpepper Cemetery

Located on Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge near Ky. lake - in Old 23rd District. Copied from:
   (1) Mr. Charles Sanders' records;
   (2) Mr. Ray Williams' records;
   (3) The Kentucky Lake Cemetery Relocation Project comp. By Judith Ann Maupin (1975) which states that "This cemetery, containing 30 graves, was above 386 elevation, but the access was flooded. Eight graves were identified and moved to relocation cemeteries. Twenty unidentified graves were also moved. Work was completed June, 1943." It also gives cause of death and where moved to.; and
   (4) TVA records, which only list next of kin for 2 people.)
