Thomas County

History

In the Upper Coastal Plains Region of Georgia, Thomas County was formed in 1825 from Decatur and Early Counties. Its county seat, Thomasville, is on US-19 and US-319 about 250 miles south of Atlanta and 40 miles northeast of Tallahassee, FL. Thomas is bordered by the Georgia counties of Brooks, Colquitt, Mitchell and Grady, and the Florida counties of Leon and Jefferson.
