Cobb County

History

In the Piedmont Region of Georgia as well as part of the modern Atlanta metro area, Cobb County was formed in 1832 from Cherokee County. Its county seat, Marietta, is on US-41 about 15 miles northwest of Atlanta. Cobb is bordered by the counties of Bartow, Cherokee, Fulton, Douglas and Paulding.
