Carroll County
History
In the Piedmont Region of Georgia,
Carroll County was formed in 1825 from the Creek
cession. Its county seat,
Carrollton, is on
US-27 about 50 miles WSW of Atlanta and 90 miles north of Columbus. Carroll is bordered by the Georgia counties of
Haralson, Paulding
Douglas, Fulton,
Coweta and Heard, and the Alabama counties of
Cleburne and Randolph.

approximately two miles west of Whitesburg.

Culpepper of Carroll County, GA. Gertrude Walker Stone, of Newnan, GA, is
